How to have Easier Days - Easy Daysies! GIVEAWAY! CLOSED

Recently we decided Jonathan was ready (or we were ready!) to have a little more responsibility: a few tasks each day and the accountability to get them done by himself. Jonathan also really likes knowing in advance what is going to happen so he can be prepared (most kids do), but somehow it was difficult to let him know and help him remember the day's plan. I guess my brain was on leave, because I used to have a system in the classroom to help kids with this: the daily menu. I'd write the order of events on the board in the morning, and they could get ready for the next one by themselves as much as possible, as well as knowing when things would happen.

Elaine Tan Comeau is a teacher who also uses the visual daily schedule in her classroom, and started using something similar with her own children at home. What started as basic daily schedule pictures drawn for a 3-year old became a magnetic schedule of standard, returning events kept on the fridge. Now, Easy Daysies is available to everyone! Jonathan was given an Easy Daysies starter set (at left) and Family Activities set (pictured above) to help him get organized. Each night, part of our bedtime routine has been to plan out the next day. Our fridge isn't magnetic but we've used Jonathan's white board in his room to stick the magnets on. The starter set comes with 18 magnets (such as: make bed, brush teeth, eat breakfast) and a “fold-and-go” magnetic board (top picture) which is handy for taking the schedule along to Grandma's, the babysitter's etc, or even for using at home when you don't have a suitable magnetic surface! Jonathan also received a ReStickables set in blue. The ReStickables are a great idea! Made from fabric, the stickers are very sturdy, and are easy to place and replace as a room system changes. And, they don't leave a sticky residue! Yay! With a picture and words, they help kids find their clothes and also learn to read the words! Jonathan had great fun placing the stickers on the right drawer. The stickers come in blue, pink and orange.
