I've seen it time and time again...the children who's parents take an interest in their education often thrive more than those are left to "fend on their own". In our home we are huge fans of being involved in our children's lives, and that includes their education. K5 Learning is an online reading and math program for kids in kindergarten to grade 5. It's purpose it to build skills that will be needed for the rest of their lives...skills such as reading, math, study skills and spelling.
We've been using K5 Learning with our 5 year old son for several weeks now. He really enjoys it, and as a parent I love it as well. It is not only fun for him, but, without question, it is also building his skills in various subjects. I am so impressed with the clear emphasis on curricula based education (not on games & entertainment) that it provides. K5 Learning also makes things very easy for us parents who are sometimes just too busy to sit down and do workbooks with our children every night. They provide automatic lesson selection, student tracking and progress reports for parents. Kids are able to work independently and at their own speed, yet parents can still view what their children have been doing and how well they are doing in various subjects. The program is incredibly easy to use, and our Kindergarten-er caught on right away and was soon working away without any help from Mom or Dad.
Another great aspect of K5 Learning that we loved was the fact that lessons are based on a skills assessment test, not on their age or grade. Our son completed two of these assessment tests and he thought they were great. :) With a colorful, game-like interface, it really does make kids excited about the activities that are provided and makes learning fun! The assessments worked out very well for our son and the K5 Team placed him well. The lessons he has been doing are very appropriate and fit perfectly with what he is learning or has learned in school this past year.
Saftey is another thing to think about when your children are on the computer working independently. K5 Learning provides total safety with no ads, no chat and no external links.
I would highly recommend K5 Learning - especially now during the summer months when parents would like to keep their children's minds fresh and active. It's a perfect way to review skills the have been taught in the past year or to even begin learning a few new things to impress their teachers with in fall! If you're looking for a good quality educational website, this is it. It is perfect for summer or school breaks as well as for after-school online lessons for kids.

I've heard so many great things about K-5 Learning. I like that they use adaptive technology to help kids develop instant recall of basic addition, subtraction, multiplication and division facts. It ensures that children will remember what they are learning. Thanks for the opportunity to win!

I agree that personalizing the program to their abilities instead of their age is the best thing about the whole thing.
